Our Story

AmVee Disability Pride Farms is a pioneering initiative dedicated to empowering women with disabilities and combating Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) in Sierra Leone. Our mission is to leverage agriculture as a powerful platform to raise awareness and drive meaningful change against SGBV.

Founded with a vision of inclusivity and justice, AmVee operates from PateBana Marank, Rogbaneh and Market Communities in Makeni City, where we are committed to creating a supportive environment for women and young men alike. Our approach is multifaceted: we engage the community through awareness campaigns, educational initiatives, and skills development training, all while using agriculture as a central theme to amplify our message.

Thanks to the insightful mentorship from eWomen SL and our relentless dedication, we are proud to have won the prestigious MOVE Purposeful grant. This grant supports our project, “AmVee Disability Pride Farms – Plow Peace, Sow Justice: Agriculture’s Stand Against SGBV,” which aims to drive impactful change by integrating agricultural activities with advocacy efforts.

Our activities include raising awareness about SGBV, providing education, and fostering skills development among community members. Through our initiatives, we also work to address the unique challenges faced by women with disabilities, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are met.
